KSSENA representatives attended the European Sustainable Energy Week 2023 (EUSEW) in the end of June. We were looking for solutions and ideas for projects that could be implemented within the 3DIVERSE project.

The main focus was to attend workshops on innovative hydrogen technologies, energy renovation of buildings and the latest solutions in the field of photovoltaics. One of the most important sessions was the Energy Transition Champions from Central and Eastern Europe.

A key objective of the session was to promote some of the best practices in the local energy transition from Central and Eastern Europe, exemplified by EU Green Leaf 2021 winners Gabrovo (Bulgaria), Celje (Slovenia) and Ukrainian frontrunner Lviv.

All three cities, supported by the EXCITE H2020 project, are among the best-performing pilots of the European Energy Award (EEA) and long-term signatories of the Covenant of Mayors and provided excellent examples not only of integrated energy planning and management but also of active stakeholder engagement and citizen participation in the transition process, which is considered a key factor for their success.
