On October 1st the 3Diverse consortium gathered in Velenje for its 5th General Project Meeting. Hosted by the project coordinator KSSENA, the event brought together all partners to review the progress made in sustainable district heating systems, energy renovations, digital twin technology, and citizen-focused financing models.
The meeting also addressed ongoing communication and engagement efforts to ensure broad participation and support for the project’s goals.
Representatives discussed advancements in creating defossilized and efficient district heating systems, emphasizing decentralized energy sources and the use of digital twin models for system optimization.
Progress on energy audits for public and private buildings, particularly in Velenje and surrounding municipalities, was also presented.
The consortium explored innovative financial solutions, including citizen engagement through energy communities and decentralized finance models. These approaches aim to empower citizens to participate in sustainable energy investments. The potential for replicating these solutions in other European regions was a key point of discussion.
As the project moves into its final stages, the consortium remains focused on delivering lasting, replicable models for energy sustainability that will contribute to reducing fossil fuel dependence in district heating systems.
